PM asks for people's mandate for BN to continue bringing development, transformation

KUALA NERUS: The Barisan Nasional government need a strong mandate to enable it to continue bringing development and transformation for the betterment of the people.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said for the mandate given in the past, the government had honoured its promises by implementing projects such building more affordable housing units and the East Coast Rail Link, as well as upholding Islam, among others.

He said the BN government is one which talked less but did more for the people, while the Opposition contributed nothing except spreading lies and slander about the government.

“The rakyat should use their wisdom to choose a government which could bring changes to their life.

“BN government not only has a big vision for the country, its vision is backed by careful planning and the ability to implement all its plans.

“For example, our people’s housing project is touted as among the best in the world. We use the revenue generated from the goods and service tax to fund the project, which ultimately benefit people from the lower income bracket,” he said at the launch of the people’s housing project at Bukit Nanas in Tepoh here this evening.

A total of 500 units costing RM84 million will be built in three years under the project.

Meanwhile, Najib, who is attending the ‘One Belt One Route’ Conference in China, next month, said he will negotiate with the country to start the ECRL project by this year.

He said the project will add value to businesses and is expected to bring tremendous growth in Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan.

Najib also announced that the government had approved RM60 million for a project to house the current traders in Pasar Payang in Kuala Terengganu.
