Accident victim meets doctor who helped him after Facebook posting goes viral

KUALA LUMPUR: Motorcyclist Faisal Hasbullah Alimin, who was involved in an accident at the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway near Genting Sempah last Sunday, has finally managed to meet the good Samaritan who had stopped to help him.

The good Samaritan, a doctor identified as Koh Siew Ling, from Sandakan had stayed with Faisal at until the ambulance arrived.

In an interview with Harian Metro, Faisal expressed his gratitude and intention to meet and thank Koh in person in an interview with Harian Metro.

“She had brought along her medical equipment and checked my pulse and breathing, and even set my broken arm into position.

“Thank you for helping me, even though we do not know each other and are of different races,” said Faisal.

Koh met Faisal at Kuala Lumpur Hospital yesterday after reading the viral post on the Internet.

The doctor shared on her Facebook stating that the week had been an unexpected one but nevertheless insightful.

“Never did I expect that a small act of kindness would generate such publicity in the media. I am humbled and grateful for the compliments shown by everyone.

“I would have done it again without hesitation if similar situations come by. Lastly, I wish Faizal a speedy recovery and I hope that this incident can add a little bit more kindness and helpfulness in every one of us to make this world a better one to live in,” wrote Koh.

In a viral Facebook posting by Faisal’s friend, Muhammad Aizuddin, they had expressed their respect for Koh.

“Even though she knows that we are ‘Mat Rempits’, she still stopped by to help us because she is a doctor.

“She asked me to buy sweets for you, so you would not suffer from low sugar level and she is the person who cleaned your wound. You go and look for her when you recover from the injury,” wrote Aizuddin.

The Facebook post by Aizuddin has since garnered 4700 likes and 693 shares.
