TELUK INTAN: A teenager was arrested by the police after a video of him performing a 'wheelie' while riding a motorcycle went viral on social media.
Hilir Perak district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri, said that the Intelligence and Operations Unit of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division at Hilir Perak IPD detected the act taking place at KM1 Jalan Changkat Jong, near here.
Following that, he said, the police arrested the 15-year-old teenager in the vicinity of the People's Housing Program (PPR) Flats in Teluk Intan at 5pm yesterday.
"The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for riding on a public road in a dangerous and reckless manner," he said when contacted.
Ahmad Adnan stressed that the police will not compromise on any misconduct involving driving or riding that endangers lives.
