KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah state government will be giving RM500 special financial aid to its civil servants in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, who is also the state's Finance Minister, in a statement, said the Raya aid would be paid out along with monthly income for this month on June 16.
The special financial aid involves RM8.74 million and will be distributed to 17,480 civil servants throughout the state.
“It is our hope that this aid will help reduce their burden in preparing for the coming Hari Raya.
“The Raya aid is an appreciation from the state government towards the contributions and dedications of our civil servants in carrying out their duties for the state’s wellbeing.” he said.
Meanwhile in SEREMBAN, a total of 6,322 civil servants in Negri Sembilan will receive RM500 each in conjunction with the upcoming Aidilfitri celebrations.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the aid, totalling RM3.16 million, will be paid out on June 15 to all staff at the state's administration, subsidiaries, local councils and state agencies.
"I hope that this aid will help assist all civil servants in the state to prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya and since next month's salary will be paid on July 25,
"I also call on all civil servants in the state to spend prudently and manage their finances well." Mohamad told reporters earlier after the state's weekly exco meeting.
