KUANTAN: Motorists taking a trip back to their hometown this Hari Raya will enjoy 10 per cent discount on toll payment via Touch 'n Go and SmartTag at the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway (LKK) and East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1).
Users of any vehicle class driving on these two highways will enjoy these incentives from 12am until 11.59pm on June 25.
Anih Bhd executive director Datuk Nik Fauzi Nik Hussein said the discount is the company's way of showing its appreciation to highway users.
"This is part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities for this year's Aidilfitri, especially to our loyal highway users," he said.
He said the discount giveaway will help ease the traffic and allow motorists to enjoy smoother ride to their hometowns and be with their loved ones on the first day of Hari Raya.
Nik Fauzi said this during the company's buka puasa event with Pahang Media Club at Grand Darul Makmur Hotel here last night.
He said aside from the discount, Anih is also providing Suggested Trip Schedule (TTA) on social media and the highway concessionaire's web portal.
"The reason we introduced TTA is to help cut down on traffic congestion and help (highway) users to plan their journey to the East Coast for this festivities," he said.
Nik Fauzi said Anih would also increase the number of toll collectors by 17 per cent to 272 from 233 in order to ensure smooth traffic.
He said 121 traffic team personnel encompassing LPT-Ronda, Traffic Control Centre (TCC), heavy vehicle operators and tow trucks will be on duty for 24 hours during that period.
"We also extend our thanks to the police, Fire and Rescue Department, and the Civil Defence Force who joins Anih Bhd throughout this festive season." he said.
He added that these personnel will be placed at various strategic locations to ensure the safety and convenience of users of LKK and LPT1.
