T'ganu organises free Aidilfitri bus services for out-of-state undergraduates

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu Graduates Association (Permata) is providing 320 free seats on eight buses under its "Bas Balik Raya" project for undergraduates from the state to return home for the Aidilfitri celebration.

Project director Nizarmuhsin Mohamad said the free bus service is offered based on a first-come-first-served basis for students who register their names at the Permata Secretariat, which has been set up in every zone in the country.

He said the response was overwhelming, with all seats taken up within two days of registration being opened.

The free buses will leave for Terengganu on June 23, with those from the north and south leaving at 5pm.

The bus from Negri Sembilan will leave at 5.30pm, while buses from Selangor and Kuala Lumpur will leave at 8pm, he added.

Nizarmuhsin said the buses are scheduled to arrive at the Terengganu Foundation building here at about 4.30am on June 24.

The students will be welcomed home by the management of the Terengganu Foundation and then feted to sahur (predawn Ramadan meal) before returning to their homes, he added. – BERNAMA
