Brawl in car ends in accident, one passenger dead

KOTA KINABALU: A fight among friends inside a car led to an accident which left one of them dead at Jalan Tuaran here today.

In the 7am incident, five people were in a Perodua Kelisa when an argument broke out.

A scuffle ensued in the vehicle, which saw the driver losing control of the car, and it skidded before flipping onto its side.

Lisabilah Dulima, 28, from Kampung Tambalugu in Tuaran, died at the scene.

The driver sustained injury on her right hand while three others - a man and two women - escaped unhurt. They were aged between 27 and 34.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner M.Chandra, in a statement, said police have picked up the three passengers to have their statements recorded.

Police are currently classifying the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"We will investigate the incident from all angles, including for traffic offences. We are urging witnesses to come forward to aid the investigation," he said.

Chandra also confirmed that the deceased was not a victim of a robbery, and advised the public from sharing false facts.
