KOTA KINABALU: A man was killed and a woman seriously injured when their car crashed into a drain in Jalan Tuaran, Manggatal, here today.
The man, who was driving the car, died at the scene, police said.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Kasim Muda said the mechanic and his passenger were travelling from Inanam to Manggatal.
"He lost control of the car and veered to the left, hitting a pipe before crashing into a drain at 5am."
The car overturned in the drain.
"He was trapped and extracted by firemen. The seriously injured passenger was taken to Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in an ambulance."
