KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal arrived at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 3.30pm on Thursday.
The Semporna Member of Parliament was heavily escorted by party supporters as he made his way out of the arrival hall to his vehicle.
Shafie, who flew in from Kuala Lumpur, is expected to give his statement at the Sabah Federal Administrative Complex at 5pm.
Party deputy president Darell Leiking, who was present, said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had on Wednesday contacted Shafie through his lawyer, requesting his presence at the MACC’s office here.
Meanwhile, party member Amarjit Singh has been detained at the MACC office here.
Amarjit, who is an engineer, was questioned at 10am at the office and detained at 3pm.
He is the tenth individual arrested to assist the MACC's probe into the misappropriation of federal funds for rural projects in Sabah.
Amarjit was accompanied by the party’s legal adviser, Norazmi Alimat, when he went to the MACC’s office.
