SUBANG JAYA: The driver of an Audi R8 supercar was killed in a horrific crash along Jalan Pengaturcara U1/46 in Glenmarie, here this evening.
The car, which had crashed into a Land Rover, flipped on its side and pinned the driver, a 46-year-old man, inside.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations showed that the Land Rover was making a right turn at a traffic light. The Audi, coming from the opposite lane, was unable to avoid the 4WD vehicle and smashed into it.
Witnesses had claimed that the Audi was speeding just before the accident happened.
Selangor Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Superintendent Kamaludin Mohamad said the impact of the crash flung both vehicles to the side of the road.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said it took the firemen about 10 minutes to extricate the victim from the wreckage.
The two occupants of the Land Rover were injured. The extent of their injuries are unknown at press time.
Kamaludin said the deceased was sent to the Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
