KUALA LUMPUR: The National Sports Institute (NSI) is giving the opportunity for former athletes to share their experiences and be professional coaches through its latest National Coaching Certification Scheme (SPKK).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today launched the Continous Education Initiative Programme by NSI through the National Athletes Welfare Foundation (Yakeb).
The four-day programme starting today involved more than 100 former athletes who wanted to obtain the certificate.
“Through this course, I believe that we will be able to produce more professional coaches with in depth knowledge of coaching and sports science,” she said in her opening speech.
Through this scheme, participants could obtain the “C license” through SPKK, which included two components, namely Sports Science Course Level 1 and Specific Sports Level 1.
Previously, the programme was opened to the public and it would now focus on former athletes.
