Cops out in full force at PWTC for Umno Assembly

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will deploy 1,200 personnel to ensure things run smoothly during the Umno General assembly in the vicinity of the Putra World Trade Centre this week.

City police chief Datuk Mazlan Lazim said there will be 400 personnel on duty at all times in the area to provide security and ensure smooth traffic flow.

“All elements were deployed to make sure the event runs smoothly.

“I advise public to follow the police’s orders especially traffic police considering the area is congested and due to limited parking space,” he said.

Public, he said, could park at nearby buildings or in Padang Merbuk and policemen would guide them the way to PWTC.

On preparation for the general election, Mazlan said the city police are well prepared.

“Ongoing trainings would be conducted until January ro ensure each of our men were equipped with knowledge on how to conduct the task,” he said.
