Negaraku in sign language

KUALA LUMPUR: The presence of two sign language teachers at the Puteri Umno meeting here today, stole the attention of delegates from the wing.

Wan Rofariza Wan Deraman dan Hafidah Awaludin from the National Society for The Deaf Malaysia took turns to accomplish their task throughout the day long proceedings.

The duo’s act did not go unnoticed, as many Puteri delegates recorded their action via their smartphone, specifically the sign language they ‘spoke out’ of the national anthem, “Negaraku”, as it took to the air.

The move by Puteri Umno to provide sign language teachers showed that the deaf disabled (OKU) were not sidelined.

It was understood that there were 10 deaf OKU’s who followed the policy speech by Puteri Chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin and the debate from nine speakers from the wing.
