PENAMPANG: The Barisan Nasional government will not neglect the needs of the people, even if they are in an opposition area.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the welfare of the people in the Penampang parliamentary constituency for instance have always been looked after.
Najib said much has been done for the consituency here including an allocation of RM280 million that has been approved for flood mitigation.
In his walkabout at the Donggongon weekly market, Najib also announced an RM8.5 million allocation to upgrade the market facility, one of the most popular weekly market in the state.
"I believe this place will become more comfortable for the traders and visitors who come to tamu Donggongon here."
Accompanying him were Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman and Penampang BN chief Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin.
The Prime Minister who is on a two-day visit to the state said the BN will continue bring more development to the state if it is given the mandate againt by the people in the 14th General Election.
"Our record has proven, I have approved billions of ringgit since I become the Prime Minister. As a government we have gone through years of stability and we can drive progress," he said.
Najib also said the good ties between the State and Federal administration has allowed for more progress to be poured into the state.
A large crowd had turned up for the walkabout where Najib expressed hope their enthusiasm can be translated into support in the coming polls.
