SHAH ALAM: Former Immigration Department director, Datuk Setia Abdul Halim Abdul Rauf died this morning after a battle with cancer.
He was 79.
Abdul Halim, who was also a member of the Selangor Royal Council, died at 8.35am at his son’s home in Petaling Jaya.
Selangor Royal Council secretary, Hanafisah Jais, in a statement said the ‘solat jenazah’ for Abdul Halim will be conducted at the Shah Alam state mosque after Asar prayers.
He will be buried at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum.
“He leaves behind a wife, Datin Setia Noralis Abdullah and three sons.
“He was a member of the Selangor Royal Council, and was previously appointed as a Selangor Pardons Board member and a member of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS).
“In his lifetime, he served was the Chief Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Department, Selangor State Secretary and Immigration Director in the Home Ministry,” he said.
