KUALA LUMPUR: The mystery surrounding a private college student who was reported missing on Thursday has been solved.
Mohammad Hafiz Ismail, 24, who was reported missing after he went out with a friend, was in police custody.
According to the victim’s mother, Noorliah Kasbulah, 48, she was informed that Hafiz was missing by a friend who found his Perodua Axia at a restaurant in Bandar Baru Klang at 2pm on Friday.
“I rushed to scene as soon as I was alerted; however, we only found his car.
“We then went to a nearby restaurant to check on the closed-circuit television footages. From the CCTV, Hafiz was seen eating with his friends before the premises was raided by police,” she said when contacted today.
Noorliah said Hafiz and his friends were also detained by police during the raid before being brought to a nearby police station for further investigation.
“I lodged a police report over his disappearance at a nearby police station before I was told that he was detained at North Klang district police headquarters.
“He was released by the police at 7pm after he tested negative in a urine test,” she said, adding that she had retracted her police report.
She also extended her gratitude to the public for the information and assistance rendered in when she reached out for help.
