GEORGETOWN: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng explained that any official comments involving matters under his ministry will only be done after he takes the oath of office in front of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong.
He said any comments made will be premature as his position as Finance Minister will only be confirmed upon an official swearing-in ceremony.
"Give it some time, until my post is confirmed in front of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. There will be no comments regarding the ministry's dealings until the swearing-in ceremony.
In related development, Lim expressed Pakatan Harapan's (PH) readiness to abolish the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as listed in their 14th General Election (GE14) manifesto.
"PH will not forget our promise to abolish GST. Let us handle this matter on scrapping GST after I am sworn-in as Finance Minister," he said.
