KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice president Nurul Izzah Anwar expressed her disagreement that the police search on former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's residence took place in the middle of the night.
Taking to Twitter, Nurul Izzah said, "As former victims of early dawn police raids, I must stress my disagreement in ransacking any home at such an ungodly hour."
Police began their search at Najib's residence in Jalan Langgak Duta, Taman Duta, here last night at 10pm and carried through until early this morning.
"Charge, investigate, prudently," Nurul Izzah further wrote.
Tagging the official Twitter account of the Royal Malaysian Police @PDRMsia, Nurul Izzah added that the principles of justice and wisdom must always be in play.
Agreeing with her on Twitter is Parti Amanah Negara's (Amanah) communications director Khalid Samad.
"I am in full agreement with Izzah on this issue. Need to investigate but no need to humiliate or transgress their rights as such.
"Upon completing investigations, charge. No reason to investigate until 4am. I was once taken at 2.30am," Khalid wrote on his Twitter account @khalidsamad
Weighing in is celebrity Daphne Iking who asked if the authorities couldn't wait until the day after.
"Couldn't they wait till tomorrow? (cue music). But seriously, can't they?" she wrote on her Twitter account @DaphCLPT last night.
