1MDB Special Task Force must investigate all political parties, not just Umno

KOTA BARU: The 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) Special Task Force must investigate the account of every political party in the country to determine if their resources are legal or otherwise.

Kelantan Umno information chief Datuk Md Alwi Che Ahmad said as the agency that was given the responsible to handle the job, the task force must be fair in its investigation including giving the order to freeze certain bank account of individuals and political parties.

“I believe every political partiy must be investigated fairly and (the) focus should not just solely be on Umno.

“The people have given the mandate to the new government to rule this county and we want to see the government do something good for them.

“However, it seems that the new government had used certain enforcement institution as their instrument to take revenge or abuse their power,” said Alwi who is also the state opposition leader.

The Kok Lanas BN assemblyman said he regretted that the accounts had been frozen without any notice.

“We should remember that Allah is the Al-Mighty and He will see all this. People are afraid to voice their views nowadays and this is not good for a small and developed country like Malaysia,” he said.
