These are no cicak! Monitor lizards showing some early morning love

KUALA LUMPUR: Remember the lady in Petaling Jaya who called the Fire and Rescue Department saying there was a 'huge monitor lizard' in her condominium unit?

Firefighters came to her rescue, in a fire engine, prepared to encounter a huge lizard, only to find a 'cicak' https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2018/09/408805/pj-woman-calls-help-ov... no bigger than an adult's thumb.

That, however is not the case for someone in Singapore who not only spotted what appeared to be two monitor lizards based on their size, but also did not call in the cavalry.

In a video shared with Singapore's Stomp, the sighting took place early this morning at the Lower Seletar Reservoir.

The person who took the video initially thought the two were crocodiles fighting, most likely because they were much larger than the size of a human thumb.

It then turned out that the two, were not fighting, and not crocodiles, but looked like they were 'making love'.

"I guess they were 'making love' because they weren't biting each other or fighting, they were just swirling in the water," the person who wanted to remain anonymous told Stomp.

Perhaps realising they had begun to attract a small crowd of onlookers, the two 'lovebugs' swam away after about five minutes.
