MELAKA: Rural Development Minister Rina Mohd Harun headed a list of 419 recipients of state awards and medals conferred in conjunction with the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob’s 80th birthday, today.
Rina, who is Titiwangsa Member of Parliament, was among 14 recipients of the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (D.G.S.M), which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.
Melaka Chief Minister Adly Zahari said other Cabinet ministers who were conferred the D.G.S.M were Health Minister Dr Dzulkeply Ahmad; Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof; Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail; and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religion) Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof.
Adly said the 14 D.G.S.M honorees received their awards together with 160 other recipients at the first session of the investiture ceremony today.
The remaining 258 award recipients will receive their honours during the second session of the investiture ceremony, scheduled for Nov 10.
Adly said nine people received the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (D.C.S.M), which carries the title “Datuk Wira; and 18 people were awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (D.M.S.M.), which carries the ‘Datuk’ title.
He added that the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (D.P.S.M), with the title “Datuk,” was conferred on 59 people this year; while 18 individuals were awarded the Darjah Seri Melaka (D.S.M)
Other awards and medals were Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M) (35 recipients); Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (B.K.T) (72); Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K) (100); Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (P.B.M) (87); and Pingat Khidmat Lama (P.K.L) (seven).
