A GROUP of Proton X70 owners have embarked on a land trip to China in their vehicles instead of flying to experience a new perspective in travelling to the superpower nation.
The expedition called the Malaysia-China Amazing Trip was organised by the Borneo Leisure Touring Team which took participants on a 13,000km, 33-day odyssey across 4 countries – Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and China.
During the journey, the group whizzed the North South Expressway (NSE) without a hitch with a stopover at Proton Motors Thailand before passing the scenic and historic sights such as Hua Hin, Tak, Chiang Khong, the infamous Magic Hill near the Myanmar border, the Mekong River and Laos.
Throughout the excursion, X70 proved its worthiness handling the terrain with ease, powering up steep slopes and using its good handling to keep all four tyres in contact with the road powered by its stout 1.8 TGDI engine.
The clean lines of the X70 proved to be a popular feature during stopovers as locals approached the group to enquire about the SUV when they made a stopover at small towns.
