IP on death of Syed Muhammad Danial submitted to DPP

SHAH ALAM: Police have submitted the investigation paper on their probe into the death of Syed Muhammad Danial Syed Syakir to the deputy public prosecutor’s (DPP) office.

Deputy Selangor police chief Datuk Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said they were waiting for instructions from the DPP on the next course of action to be taken.

“At the moment we have maintained our investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for intentional homicide.

“The DPP will evaluate whether to maintain the same legal provision on the charges to made or otherwise.

“We do not know the time taken by the DPP to charge the accused in court.

“This as the DPP would need to study the details involving the case before any instructions can be issued,” Rashid said after signing a note on cooperation between Selangor police and

Pick N Go Sdn Bhd, at the Senior Officer’s Mess, here, today.

The remand order against a 40-year-old man linked to the death of Danial which expired last Saturday has been extended for another five days until this Thursday.

The suspect’s wife, 36, was released on police bail.

Police had detained the man and his wife initially to facilitate investigations and both were remanded for seven days from Aug 11.

In the 1.40pm incident on Aug 10, Danial, 29, was killed following a misunderstanding over a minor accident at KM239 of the North-South Expressway south-bound, near the Bandar Baru Bangi intersection.
