Jalur Gemilang seen on London's Battersea Power Station

LONDON: In conjunction with Malaysia Day, the chimneys at the Battersea Power Station in South London were lit up with the colours of the Jalur Gemilang.

According to Datuk Ahmad Pardas Senin, Chairman of Battersea Project Holding Company Ltd: "Battersea Power Station is one of the most important real estate developments abroad which exemplifies what we can accomplish at the global stage when we work together.

"We, the shareholders, are pleased with the huge progress we are achieving on the transformation of this heritage landmark into one of London’s newest and vibrant destinations."

The initiative by the Battersea Power Station development, a joint project with S P Setia, Sime Darby Property and Employees Provident Fund lit up London, with reflections on the River Thames from the two chimneys and the front of the historic building which is in its Phase 2 of development.

The Malaysian flag reflected on the building was alternated with that of the Union Jack as a symbol of cooperation between Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
