KUALA LUMPUR: A man believed to be in a drunken stupor caused a stir on Sunday afternoon as he walked the streets of the city here, buck naked.
The intoxicated man, in his 30s, was first spotted by members of the public at about 5.30pm, wandering along Jalan Kinabalu, here.
The authorities were alerted to the situation shortly after, and a police patrol unit, comprising personnel on a motorcycle and in a car, rushed to the scene.
The officers accosted the man in front of a building at Jalan Kinabalu, and began coaxing him into entering the police car, reported Harian Metro.
To their surprise, the man – who was apparently “unaware” of his nude state – complied without kicking up a fuss.
But instead of taking him into custody, the policemen drove the man to the nearest clothing outlet and purchased him some second-hand attire to wear.
According to Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Fahmi Visunathan Abdullah, the man was then given a small amount of money as fare for a ride back to his home in Brickfields, here.
