KUALA LUMPUR: Former researcher, Muhammad Yusoff Rawther spent about four hours with Bukit Aman police today taking a polygraph test to determine the veracity of his claims against PKR president.
The 26-year-old man had accused Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of sexual assault.
Accompanied by his lawyer Datuk Mohamed Haniff Khatri, Muhammad Yusoff arrived at the federal police headquarters at 2.50pm and left about 9.00pm.
Mohamed Haniff said he was satisfied with the test, which started around 4.30pm and finished about 8.30pm, carried out on his client.
“Further details will be available from the experts who conducted the test. I believe the result will be forwarded to the investigators for further action,” he told reporters tonight.
He said Muhammad Yusoff has been cooperative throughout the entire process.
"This polygraph test is one of the things he wanted for himself mainly to prove his claim," he added.
In a statement earlier, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed said he had called for more witnesses to assist the investigation.
He said so far police have recorded statements from eight individuals.
"The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code and Section 223 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998," he said.
Muhammad Yusoff earlier this month made a statutory declaration, accusing Anwar of sexual misconduct on Oct 2 last year. He claimed that the abuse took place while he was still working for the party about a year ago.
On Dec 9, Muhammad Yusoff was called to Bukit Aman and spent about seven hours with investigators to have his statement recorded.
Anwar has since denied the allegation and has given his statement to the police on Thursday.
