KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old woman was murdered while her boyfriend was rushed to the emergency room for attempting to consume floor liquid cleaner in an incident in Kampung Padang Balang Sentul yesterday.
Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Rajab Ahad Ismail said a report on the body’s discovery was made by another woman known to the deceased.
“The Setapak police station received a report at 5.52pm yesterday from a woman who found a body at a house in Kampung Padang Balang Sentul.
“Acting upon it (the report), the police went to the scene and conducted a thorough check. A woman’s body with stab wounds on her abdomen was found lying on a bed,” he said in a statement today.
He said the body was then sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post mortem and identification. She was from Tanah Merah, Kelantan.
“At the same time, a 43-year-old male suspect, who is the victim’s boyfriend, was also at the scene and was brought to Kuala Lumpur Hospital to seek emergency treatment for vomiting blood and shortness of breath, after attempting to drink floor cleaning liquid. The suspect is being detained for further investigations.
“At the moment, he is still unconscious and receiving treatment at the red zone of the hospital,” said Rajab, adding that the suspect did not have any criminal records.
Police were still investigating the motive of the case, which has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
