KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa does not discount the possibility of having a meeting with local cosmetics entrepreneur Muhammad Sajad Kamaruzzaman once the latter returns from performing umrah in Makkah.
More popularly known as Nur Sajat, the entrepreneur courted controversy recently after posting videos wearing female praying attire (telekung) in Makkah.
It is learned that Nur Sajat registered for the umrah as a man, as informed by the travel agency engaged by the entrepreneur for the trip.
Commenting further, Mujahid said any decision would only be made after they obtain a full explanation on what happened.
Presently, he said his department already met with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for them to take action on the videos and photos by Nur Sajat while performing umrah, on social media.
"The issue is that Sajat has yet to return, we have mentioned yesterday that the alternative for us is with MCMC and the travel agency for now," he said when asked by reporters after handing over hand sanitizers and wet wipes at mosques in Kuala Lumpur, here today.
The programme saw 1,000 bottles of hand sanitizers and wet wipes distributed to 18 mosques in the Federal Territories, including Labuan.
On fears that the Saudi government may revoke tourist visas for Malaysians following what happened, Mujahid remarked that this was why it was important for Malaysians to abide by the laws set by Saudi Arabia.
"We have to follow the rules given, especially in Makkah and Madinah, because that is the law so we have to respect it... that is the condition we always remind travel agencies to respect," he said.
He further explained that while he spoke about the law, this does not mean he was judging what Nur Sajat did.
"Eventhough that is the law (men dressing as women), that does not mean there is no room for tolerance, understanding and love," he added.
