KUALA LUMPUR: In the midst of caring for patients infected with the Covid-19 virus, healthcare personnel have come up with a hashtag urging people to stay home.
Using the message ‘I stay at work for you, you stay at home for us’ with hashtags #stayhome #dudukrumah, and #kitajagakita, doctors, nurses and healthcare personnel shared photos of themselves on duty on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
The hashtags have since gained traction on social media.
The Health Ministry had also on its official Instagram page ‘kementeriankesihatanmalaysia’ come up with its own image urging people to stay indoors during the government’s 14-day Movement Control Order.
“Please stay at home. #StaySafeStayHome #StayHome #dudukrumah”, the caption read.
United Kingdom based Malaysian surgeon Dr Nur Amalina Che Bakri also hopped on the bandwagon by sharing a photo of herself asking people to help healthcare personnel by staying at home.
“p/s: This is a global effort, we are not racing against each other, we are racing against the virus,” she said in her caption on her Instagram page.
Some of the healthcare personnel even shared the message in various types of languages and dialects.
The messages have been reposted and shared widely, with people showing appreciation to the frontline medical professionals and staff.
On Monday, the government announced a 14-day movement control order from March 18 till 31 to curb the Covid-19 infection in the country.
