KUALA LUMPUR: Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd (Takaful Malaysia) donated RM250,000 to Covid-19 Humanitarian Aid through the Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund, as an effort to combat the pandemic together.
According to group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mohamed Hassan Kamil, the company was fulfilling its corporate philosophy in prioritizing the community.
“Seeing the numbers of cases presented daily, we believe the action must be taken now. We must act upon community needs as they are our priority.
“We are in full support of the Media Prima Group for doing the campaign to collect funds from the members of the public and big corporate companies.
“We believe this initiative is helpful, especially in enabling more purchases of essential needs for our medical frontliners, especially in stocking up personal protective equipment (PPE), surgical face masks, testing kits and ventilators to be placed at Covid-19 treatment and relief centres and various locations throughout the country.
“We are more than happy to cooperate and help, and be part of the campaign, regardless of the current economic situation, as long as we are able to contribute in any way we can,” he said in a statement today.
The first Islamic insurance company also offered three month payment deferment for premium contributions for its customers who are economically affected by Covid-19 or the Movement Control Order (MCO) regulations.
“This initiative, which fell under our Program Bantuan Covid-19, is one of our company’s efforts to ensure our customers financial security stays protected, especially during this trying time.
“Besides, we also offered a free advanced protection plan for our customers affected with the virus, which are applicable through our new Takaful myClick MozzCare Plans.
“Our customers can apply and they will be charged without additional cost for cash payment up to RM2,000 for those who are positive with the virus and need financial help right away.
“For any member of the Pelan Manfaat Pekerja who are diagnosed positive with the virus, we will take care of their hospital bills while providing other financial help in accordance with their benefits as inked in their insurance agreements,” he said.
