KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor will restrict the number of businesses that will resume operations when the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) begins on Monday.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state will review the preparedness of local authorities in handling the resumption of companies' operations in Selangor.
Amirudin said the state government will discuss CMCO enforcement and guidelines with local authorities to ensure no spike in Covid-19 cases.
"I need to know how many enforcers are under the local authorities. This is because they need to oversee how food outlets operate.
"This does not include the Shah Alam Lake Garden yet. I am not sure how many thousands of people will (visit the attraction) so we need to make sure how to enforce monitoring in the area.
"All of this needs to be detailed and cannot be decided and completed in a day," he told a press conference today.
Amirudin also spoke about daycare centres for the elderly and children which have been approved to operate during the CMCO.
He said that Selangor is drawing up a guideline to ensure the safety of all at daycare centres and will be making the decision tomorrow.
"Childcare centres will be have 20 to 30 children in one place, as well as the old folks' homes.
"How to ensure that children and the elderly are properly taken care of? We all know that the Covid-19 virus is dangerous to the vulnerable group.
"There are a lot of these centres in Selangor and there are those which are unregistered daycares and homes," he said.
