Quarantine fees exempted for the disabled

PUTRAJAYA: The government has agreed to exempt the disabled placed under mandatory quarantine, from paying hotel accommodation charges.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was decided at the daily ministerial meeting with the National Security Council today.

"As previously announced, Malaysians returning from overseas have to settle 50 per cent of the quarantine bill starting June 1.

"The disabled are exempted from making payment. All other Malaysians are required to pay half the charges," he told a press conference today.

He added that Malaysia My Second Home participants must pay the full amount of the hotel accommodation cost.
