Tasek Gelugor MP made deputy minister

PUTRAJAYA: Tasek Gelugor member of parliament Datuk Shabudin Yahaya has been appointed as a deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Department, replacing Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith who is now the deputy works minister.

In the announcement made by the Prime Minister's Office, Shabudin would be housed under the portfolio supervising matters relating to the parliament and law.

In line with clause (1) matter 43A of the Federal Constitution, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had consented to the appointment.

The ceremony for the presentation of appointment letter, taking of oath and swearing-in as a deputy minister before the Agong took place today.

Shabudin, 54, a former Syariah court judge, is from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and a two-term MP for the Tasek Gelugor constituency.
