KUALA LUMPUR: Some 6.2 million users nationwide have downloaded and activated the MySejahtera application, which was developed by the government to manage the Covid-19 outbreak; and help Malaysians conduct health self-assessments.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that as of today, 254,833 business premises have also registered with the application.
He, however, hopes that more businesses would register and provide their MySejahtera QR code to customers, which would allow for contact tracing should an infection emerge in their vicinity.
"There are still many business premises which have yet to provide MySejahtera QR codes to their customers. They instead use the application developed by other parties, such as the state government.
"Although the government has no right to restrict them from using other applications, we hope that more quarters will register and provide their customers with the QR Code for MySejahtera to allow contact tracing," Ismail Sabri, who is also the Senior Defence Minister, said during his non-health related daily press briefing today.
