IPOH: A woman spotted wearing a pink wristband at a restaurant here is not a Person Under Surveillance (PUS), police said after a photograph of her went viral on social media yesterday.
Ipoh police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said checks showed that the wristband she was wearing was for entering the Lost World of Tambun theme park.
"It is just a misunderstanding. That is the wristband to enter the Lost World of Tambun," he told Bernama today.
He said a report was also lodged at the Sungai Senam police station by the restaurant owner in Taman Fair Park, here, who after seeing the photograph online dismissed the allegation made by netizens.
Earlier, Perak Health (JKN) director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said his department was conducting an investigation into the allegation of a restaurant customer who was suspected of violating home quarantine regulations.
Ding said the investigation was carried out after the department received a complaint about a customer who was seen wearing what appeared to be a pink PUS wristband. -- Bernama
