KUALA LUMPUR: The threshold odour number (Ton) for the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plants are at 6 Ton and 8 Ton respectively.

As such, the operation plants cannot be reactivated yet.

Pengurusan Air Selangor(Air Selangor) said this in a statement here today, adding that the readings were as of 5pm.

This unscheduled water disruption has affected a total of 309,687 user accounts in 274 areas in four districts: Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

Earlier the state-owned utility company said that it could not determine the estimated water supply recovery period until the exact source of pollution was determined.

This was to among others enable the pollutants to be flushed out and the plants to be reactivated.
