CMCO: KL is a single district, residents free to travel within [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur residents are free to travel within the capital city as it is considered as a single district.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there were many queries over boundaries under the implementation of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in the Klang Valley.

"CMCO is imposed based on administrative district (borders) and the whole of Kuala Lumpur is considered as one and Putrajaya is another district.

"For example, those from Bukit Bintang can travel freely to TTDI (Taman Tun Dr Ismail) or those in Cheras to Bukit Bintang (without having to obtain police permission as per CMCO's SOP for inter-district travels)," he said during a Facebook live session today.

As for Selangor, there are nine administrative districts within the state (each represented by a district officer or DO), namely; Petaling, Klang, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam.

CMCO is enforced in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until Oct 27 following the rise in Covid-19 cases.

Inter-district and inter-state travels are not allowed under the CMCO, with the exception of emergency cases, while those who have travel to another district for work are required to obtain authorisation letters from their employers.

On a separate matter, Ismail Sabri said bowling in Sunway Pyramid in Petaling Jaya, Selangor was prohibited, as sports training were limited to quarantine-based approach at designated centres.
