IPOH: Three people, including two children aged six and eight were killed in an accident at Jalan Lama Kota Bharu in Gopeng here last night.
The victims, including a 30-year-old man, were killed on the spot when the trailer lorry they were travelling in was involved in an accident and turned turtle.
The identities of the victims as well as their relationship has yet to be revealed by authorities.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a distress call was placed at 10.28pm last night before firemen from Gopeng and Kampar rushed to the scene.
He said firemen found the trailer lorry - which was laden with cement, along the roadside with the victims pinned to their seats.
"We had to use a crane as well as an excavator to extricate the bodies," he said, adding the operation was called off at 2.19am today.
He said the victims were taken to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here for post-mortem.
