KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia recorded its highest number of daily Covid-19 related deaths after 26 fatalities were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) today.
This brings the country's Covid-19 death toll to 1,683.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said from the number of fatalities recorded today, 25 of them are locals while the remaining is a non-citizen.
Dr Noor Hisham, in a posting that was shared on his official Twitter account, said 416 cases are currently being treated at Intensive Care Units at health facilities nationwide, of which, 216 are intubated.
The number of recoveries as of noon today was 3,211, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 401,934.
New cases dropped below the 4,000 mark after the ministry detected 3,733 infections over the past 24 hours.
