TAPAH: Three technicians sustained burns after a boiler machine they were repairing exploded at a lime plant in Batu 3, Temoh here.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said that they received a distress call over the incident at 10.56 am.
He said the victims, aged between 30 and 44, sustained injuries to their faces during the 10.50 am explosion.
"A team of firemen from Tapah were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, 40 per cent of the boiler machine was on fire.
"The explosion caused the lid of the boiler to open and hit the men who were there repairing the boiler.
"They were rushed to the Tapah Hospital for further treatment," he said adding that the operation ended at 11.50 am.
The spokesperson said that the cause of the fire and explosion were still being investigated.
