KUALA LUMPUR: Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has slammed what he called persistent politicking by certain parties in the hopes of taking over the country while the nation was still battling the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said such actions were a direct violation of the order by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong last year for all parties to stop playing politics and work towards combating the pandemic together for the sake of the people and the country.
"It appears that they are relentless in pursuing their agenda by resorting to politics in the hope of taking over the country at a time when we are still fighting against Covid-19," he wrote in a Facebook post today.
Hadi is currently being treated at the National Heart Institute (IJN).
It is believed that the post was referring to the events unfolding today, with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah granting audiences to political leaders at Istana Negara here.
