KUALA LUMPUR: A total 9,411 2020 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates obtained straight As for all subjects, said Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin.
This was a slight increase from the results in the 2019 SPM, where 8,876 candidates obtained straight As.
The number of candidates obtaining at least distinctions also improved by 0.84 per cent, from 77,038 students in 2019 to 78,731 in 2020.
Radzi also said more candidates have obtained at least acpass in their 2020 SPM, with 38.35 per cent, compared to 37.93 per cent in 2019.
While the number of students who failed at least one subject dropped in 2020 to 121,496 from 126,947 in 2019, the number of candidates who failed all subjects increased slightly by 0.05 per cent.
In 2020, 4,416 candidates failed all subjects while 4,321 students failed all subjects in 2019.
This year, 401,105 students registered for the examinations, which were held from Feb 22 to March 25.
