KUALA LUMPUR: Those who were at the vaccination centre (PPV) at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam from 4pm on July 9 onwards have been advised to conduct self-assessment and check for any symptoms associated with Covid-19.
This follows a Covid-19 outbreak at the IDCC Shah Alam PPV as 204 of the 453 workers and volunteers there tested positive for the virus.
Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (NIP) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) believes the exposure to the virus at the centre may have occurred on July 9.
"As such, people who came for vaccination at the centre from July 9 until 12, should undergo self-regulation as well as monitor for symptoms associated with the virus within a period of 10 days from the date of their visit to the PPV.
"The symptoms (associated with the virus) are different than the side effects they may experience after receiving their vaccination shots.
"Not to confuse with side effects from the vaccination, the symptoms associated with the virus include coughing and loss of sense of smell and taste as well as others," he told a special press conference today.
Those who developed symptoms associated with the virus have also been advised to undergo screening immediately.
