IPOH: Police are probing an incident where an individual was said to have booked a helicopter from Kuala Lumpur to pick up 36 packets of Ipoh's famous 'nasi ganja'.
The cops are investigating whether the incident had broken any standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that police will also be investigating the company which owns the helicopter.
"Police will investigate this issue for breaching interstate or inter-district travel SOP involving both the individual as well as the company.
"The case will be investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act (Act 342)," he said in a statement today.
Earlier, the NST had reported that the helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh here to pick up 36 packets of 'nasi ganja' booked by a customer from Kuala Lumpur today.
Mior Faridalathrash had said checks with the Ipoh Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) showed the helicopter was only allowed to land at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (LTSAS).
However, the helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh here between 9.55am and 10.15am to pick up the order.
The action sparked questions among social media users on whether the move violated the interstate and inter-district travel ban during the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
