SHAH ALAM: Two teenagers were killed after a four-wheel-drive vehicle driving against traffic flow at KM 8.5 of the Federal Highway, slammed into their car early this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received a call at 1.51am about the incident and arrived within minutes at the scene.
Upon arrival, they saw a Mitsubishi Triton, driven by a man, had collided with a Proton Wira.
"In the collision, the female driver and her male passenger were trapped in their respective front seats.
"It took us half an hour to extricate them and a health department medical officer who was present pronounced them dead," he said when contacted today.
The bodies have been handed over to the police for further action.
The dead victims were identified as Nur Afiqah Abdul Karim, 18, and Muhammad Hafiz Syamir Dzul Asri, 19, from Klang and Port Klang, respectively.
The 24-year-old Mitsubishi Triton driver escaped unhurt.
The rescue operation was conducted by eight Fire and Rescue Department personnel from Shah Alam led by senior operation commander Kamarul Zaman Abd Rani.
