KUALA LUMPUR: Walk-in vaccinations at the 156 PPVs are only allowed for adolescents who do not attend school, are home schooled and those studying at private or public universities.
Deputy Health Minister I Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali, who is also the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force-Adolescent (CITF-A) chairman, said the vaccination programme for teenagers at 156 PPVs is scheduled and walk ins will only be allowed for those who are not in school.
"Parents do not need to rush to the PPV with their children for vaccination because the adolescent vaccination appointment schedule is made in collaboration with the District Health and Education offices in advance.
"The school management will notify the parents or guardian ahead of time so that they can accompany the teen for the vaccination," he said in a statement.
Dr Noor Azmi said it is important for parents to follow appointment dates, and not simply walk in to any of the PPVs.
"This way we will be able to avoid any congestion at the PPVs and ensure a smooth process for all," he said.
Meanwhile, for full and day boarding school students, he said the vaccination appointment will be given via the MySejahtera app.
"They will be notified of the appointment date and given a PPV closest to their place of residence," he said.
He also gave assurances that there is adequate supply of vaccines for all adolescents aged 12 to 17.
