KUALA LUMPUR: Several areas in Kelantan, Pahang and Johor as well as the whole of Terengganu can expect heavy rainfall on Dec 2 and 3.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a warning issued today, said strong winds from the north east direction could potentially lead to continuous rainfall and cause floods in low-lying areas.
The department said nine districts in Kelantan - namely Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai - and the whole of Terengganu have been placed on high alert.
Similarly, the Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin districts in Pahang as well as the Mersing and Kota Tinggi districts in Johor have also been cautioned over heavy rainfall.
