SHAH ALAM: In the spirit of "Bangsa Malaysia", more than 300 volunteers from Parti Bangsa Malaysia today set out to help flood victims clean their homes.
The two-day clean-up programme was officially launched today and is called "Misi Pasca Banjir" (post-floods mission) and will cover homes in Klang, Kapar, Hulu Langat, Shah Alam, Kota Raja and Puchong.
The volunteers, divided into several groups, are equipped with all the relevant cleaning materials and will help residents with their clean-up efforts before moving back in.
"We will travel in four wheel drive vehicles as several areas are still slightly flooded and we will help residents in every way we can.
"During the last two days, we were busy handing out aid to those in need and now, we will assist them in their cleaning up work," said a group leader.
He said the volunteers come from all walks of life and will help anyone in need.
"We are all one bangsa Malaysia and will help each and every Malaysian who needs our assistance," he said.
Several volunteers said they were excited and also thrilled to be able to do their part in helping the victims.
"We know many were badly hit by the recent floods and this is something we can do on our part to make things better for them.
"We are happy to be able to help out and urge more volunteers to come forward and do their part," they said.
