KUALA LUMPUR: Two maintenance workers who were on a gondola were tossed around from side to side by strong winds while cleaning a building in Jalan Kamuning, here, yesterday evening.
The incident, recorded on video, occurred after a bout of heavy rain ended about 4pm.
The two workers workers were spotted hanging on to the gondola as the strong winds hit causing suspended platform to spin violently and slamming the window of the building.
This went on for several minutes before the workers managed to get themselves to safety.
Rescuers from the Pudu Fire and Rescue station were rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call.
However, by the time they arrived, the workers had already exited the gondola.
Operations Commander Junain Bahau said they were informed by the site supervisor of the incident and no rescue operation was needed.
"The workers got off on their own before we arrived," he said in a statement.
