10 Johor exco members sworn in

JOHOR BARU: Ten state assemblymen took their oath of office as members of the Johor state executive council (exco) before the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, today.

The appointment ceremony took place at the Balai Mengadap, Istana Bukit Serene, here, this morning.

Also present were the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Temenggong of Johor, Tunku Idris Iskandar Sultan Ibrahim.

Exco members sworn in were Datuk Zahari Sarip (Buloh Kasap); Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor (Bukit Permai); K. Raven (Tenggaroh); Khairin Nisa Ismail (Serom); Mohd Hairi Mad Shah (Larkin) and Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid (Semerah).

Also sworn in were Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng), Lee Ting Han (Paloh), Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir) and Norliza Noh (Johor Lama).

Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who is also Machap assemblyman, was sworn in as the 19th Menteri Besar of Johor on March 15 before the state ruler.

Onn Hafiz, who is the Simpang Renggam Umno division vice chief won the Machap seat in the Johor state election last Saturday, with a 6,543 vote majority.

He replaced Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad, who was appointed as the 18th Menteri Besar on Feb 28, 2020.
